Person-Centered Care in SUD Settings: The Art of Assessment & Engagement
This course will highlight relational skills, self-awareness, and bias in whole-person care. The topics of checking your "baggage" and using care teams and supervision to help will be an emphasis.
In addition, this course will focus on whole-person care, as an important part of person-centered care. It will cover some of the practices care professionals can use to prepare for engaging with a person receiving care during an initial visit and during the assessment. It is not just what is asked, but how it is asked. This is called the art of assessment.
This self-paced training is designed to be finished in approximately one hour. You have the flexibility to exit the course and return at any time to resume from where you left off. Upon completion, you’ll be eligible to earn 1 Continuing Education (CE) credit and download your certificate at no cost.
This course is part of the Advancing Person-Centered Care in Substance Use Disorder Settings series, which offers focused, standalone learning experiences that can be taken individually or as a complete set.
