Person-Centered Care in SUD Settings: The Science of Assessment - Brain Health

This course is built on The Art of Assessment & Engagement course, with the focus on the technical aspects of substance use disorder (SUD) assessment. This course will explore brain health and social drivers of health. Society has made conversations about mental health stigmatizing, particularly for persons who experience SUD.

Keeping relational skills at the top of mind, this training will dive into the tools that can be used in assessing brain health through the lens of the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) Dimension 3. It will also consider the impact of social stressors on brain health.

This self-paced training is designed to be finished in approximately one hour. You have the flexibility to exit the course and return at any time to resume from where you left off. Upon completion, you’ll be eligible to earn 1 Continuing Education (CE) credit and download your certificate at no cost.

This course is part of the Advancing Person-Centered Care in Substance Use Disorder Settings series, which offers focused, standalone learning experiences that can be taken individually or as a complete set.
