BIME 526 is intended for students pursuing the Clinical and Translational Science (CTS) pathway. It builds upon the content and activities of BIME 525: Designing and Developing Clinical and Translational Research, continuing to explore specific issues around types of study design and types of data collection and management. It will discuss community-engaged research, qualitative research, and concepts in team science.
Students will continue to develop their research proposal that they began in BIME 525, and plan for the implementation of their project, with input from their project mentor. Students will develop the methods that they will use, data management plan and statistics consultation where appropriate. The data collection for this project will take place as full-time research activities will take place during your program’s dedicated time. Students will also learn about key research methodologies and areas of translational science, including qualitative research, survey, community engaged research, performing research using existing data, and studying the effectiveness of new clinical and research tests and tools.
